OCTOBER 13th, 2018

WEST KELOWNA B.C- The Nanaimo Clippers travelled to West Kelowna for their second stop in what is a very long road trip for the club.

1st Period: Couple changes to start the game. Warriors welcomed James Philpott back to the lineup after a lengthy absence, and also placed rookie Cole Wyatt in for Mason Richey. The first period was scoreless but the best chances of the frame came from Cole Wyatt who had an open net but fanned on the one time chance. Shots on goal 9-9 after one.

2nd Period: The second frame was all Warriors mainly because they had 7 minutes of power play time. Cavin Tilsley took an ugly hit from Clippers rookie Connor Wetsch which led to a 5 minute power play but the Warriors couldn’t beat goaltender Landon Pavlisin. Late in the third though the Warriors would strike with a heads up play from defender Tyler Pang noticing the Clippers heading off on a change leading to a 3-1 and a Matt Kowalski goal. Even better news Willie Reim picked up an assist increasing his point streak to 12 games. Shots on goal after 2 periods 24-15 in favor of the Warriors.

3rd Period: The Clippers started off with a bang with Ethan Scardina wristing one in the slot which tied the game at one. Only three minutes later the Warriors answered right back with that dangerous second line leading to Matt Kowalski tipping in his second goal of the evening off a Lucas Bahn slapshot giving the Warriors a 2-1 lead. The Clippers would later prove that no lead is safe in the BCHL with Joshua Bourne scoring his 4th of the season once again tying the game up again at two a piece. Shots on goal after 3 periods. 40-28 Warriors.

Overtime: Both clubs shared great scoring chances during the 3 on 3 overtime but couldn’t cash in. Best chance for the Warriors came from Wyatt Head who couldn’t beat Clippers goaltender Landon Pavlisin at the two minute mark of OT. Connor Hopkins would then stop Clippers forward Jonathon Stein with his toe keeping the game tied up sending it to the first shootout of the season for the Warriors.
