Vernon, B.C.-  The Vernon Vipers storm back to defeat the West Kelowna Warriors Monday night by a score of 2-1.

Just like last Friday night, the Warriors were able to draw first blood versus the Vipers when Porter Dawson was able to tip a Nick Ardanaz shot beating Vipers goaltender James Porter Jr to make it 1-0.

The second period was all Vipers. Relentless pressure inside the Warriors zone in the final 10 minutes led to Logan Lorenz scoring his 5th of the Pod season and then Trey Taylor adding his 1st of the Pod season with only 4 seconds remaining in the 2nd to give the Vipers a 2-1 lead.

The Warriors needed a strong third period down one goal against a very defensive Vipers club. The Vipers were able to maintain possession inside the Warriors zone throughout the behind and hold the Warriors to only two shots on goal in the final frame. Warriors had a couple chances late in the period but couldn’t cash in to force overtime. Vipers escape with a 2-1 win.

The West Kelowna Warriors return to action Wednesday May 5th, with a 7:30pm match up with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. Fans can catch the action on BCHLTV (formally HockeyTV) or on the free internet radio stream on Mixlr.
