WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – A third period surge allowed the Vees to complete the sweep of the home at home with the Warriors this weekend.

The game got off to a rough start with the Vees scoring 9 seconds into the first period to make it 1-0. It was a quick faceoff win and a shot from the right circle from Coleton kalezic that went off the crossbar allowing Jay O’Brien to clean up the garbage. The Warriors would tie it up with a shorthanded goal led by some great forechecking from Max Bulawka who stole the puck in the Vees zone feeding Lucas Cullen to tie it up at one. The Vees would add a power play goal from Connor Hutchison late in the period to head into the dressing room with a one goal lead.

The second period saw the Warriors get off to a rough start yet again. First the Vess were able to pick up their third goal of the game from Nardone which would spell the end of the night for Johnny Derrick. Brock Baier would come in for relief but would immediately face a handful of shots leading to an Alex DiPaolo goal off a deflection to make it 4-1 Vees. The Warriors would push back scoring a pair of their own. First the top unit power play would go to work allowing Lucas Cullen to find Trevor Adams in the crease to cut the lead to two. Then Jacob Brockman would find Drew Vieten who would wire a slap shot from the left side circle beating Derek Krall to make it 4-3 heading into the third.

The Warriors came close to tying the game up early in the third but Krall was able to shut the door on numerous occasions. Then the Vees would go on the attack scoring a pair of goals giving them the extra insurance they needed to head home with their 8th straight victory. Lucas Sillinger would add one late to make it 7-3.

Final shots: 33-26 in favor of the Vees.
