FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SEPTEMBER 13th, 2019

WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – The Warriors travel to the Fraser Valley for a battle with the Langley Rivermen Friday night.

Warriors vs. Rivermen 2019/20 Regular Season Schedule:

Friday, September 13th @ George Preston Arena (7:15 PM)

Tuesday, October 8th @ Royal LePage Place (7:00 PM)

It was a start the Warriors wouldn’t wish on their worst enemy. First news broke that Warriors #1 centre Parm Dhaliwal would be out indefinitely, then during the Warriors first game of the season, Jake Harrison would suffer an upper body injury putting him out for with no timeline on his return. The Warriors would start the season 0-3 after being the only team in the BCHL to play three games in a row. Tonight it doesn’t get any easier with a trip down to Langley to face the Rivermen. Last time the Warriors played in Langley they suffered a 2-1 loss. Rivermen goaltender Braedon Fleming and Warriors goaltender Brock Baier went head to head making numerous key saves on both ends but it was Fleming who had the last laugh. Tonight both goaltenders are expected to faceoff once again and with expectations of another low scoring affair.

Although the Warriors have lost all three games to start the season, they’ve been competitive during all three of them. Every single game the Warriors were either tied or down by one goal with under five minutes to go in the game. Head Coach and General Manager Brandon West is confident his club was within inches of a couple victories but a couple of late unfortunate bounces went the opposite way. Tonight the Warriors will also need to figure out the power play without Parm Dhaliwal in the lineup. Last Sunday the Warriors couldn’t cash in after 8 attempts on the man advantage. Special teams will take another hit for the Warriors who are still going to be without Parm Dhaliwal and Jake Harrison out with injury. This is an opportunity for the newer faces on the Warriors squad to earn their spot on the power play.

This evening’s game will be broadcast on both HockeyTV and the Warriors Mixlr Network. Puck drop at 7:15pm from George Preston Arena in Langley.
