WEST KELOWNA B.C. –  The number one power play in the BCHL hosts the Salmon Arm Silverbacks tonight.

Silverbacks VS Warriors Schedule:

Sept 28th VS Salmon Arm 7:00pm

Sept 29th @ Salmon Arm 7:00pm

Oct 5th @ Salmon Arm 7:00pm

Oct 26th VS Salmon Arm 7:00pm

Feb 1st @ Salmon Arm 7:00pm

Feb 2nd VS Salmon Arm 7:00pm

The West Kelowna Warriors hope to continue their hot streak with another home at home with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks this weekend. Last Wednesday the Warriors defeated the Wenatchee Wild by a score of 5-2 with all goals scored on special teams, four of them on the power play. Another achievement included that the Warriors didn’t allow a single power play goal to Wenatchee which has lifted them from being the worst in the league short handed.

Tonight it’s the start of a home at home with another meeting next week at the Shaw Centre in Salmon Arm, so the next three meetings will all be against the Silverbacks. The last time these two clubs played was back in August during the preseason which was an absolute thriller with Matt Kowalski winning it in overtime silencing the Shaw Centre crowd. Warriors hope to add to the winning streak tonight. Goaltender Connor Hopkins is continuing his stellar play between the pipes after winning the coveted BCHL Player of the Week nod last week with a 40 save performance over the Wenatchee Wild on Wednesday. As of tonight, West Kelowna holds the number one powerplay in the league. Key to the game, draw some penalties and capitalize on the man advantage.

The Silverbacks will be relying on their top scorers in Matthew Verboon and the player that came just short of the BCHL Player or the Week Justin Wilson. These forwards have a combined 13 points in 12 games and will be the duo the Warriors need to be aware of.  Although the Warriors have the number one power play in the league they have the worst penalty kill in the league. Easy key for a Silverbacks victory, keep discipline and maintain puck position on the man advantage.

Catch tonight and tomorrow’s game online on EZ Rock 91.5 Salmon Arm with Silverbacks broadcaster Ryan Lepper. Warriors broadcaster Chase Johnston will return Friday October 5th.
