PREVIEW: WARRIORS LOOK TO EVEN SEASON SERIES WITH THE WILD

SEPTEMBER 26th, 2018

WEST KELOWNA B.C – The West Kelowna Warriors hope to carry their red hot power-play back to the RLP for a rematch against the Wenatchee Wild.

Wild VS Warriors Regular Season Schedule:

Sept 15th VS Wenatchee – 4-2 LOSS

Sept 26th VS Wenatchee – 7pm

Oct 30th VS Wenatchee – 7pm

Nov 2nd @ Wenatchee – 7:05pm

Nov 23rd @ Wenatchee – 7:05pm

Nov 24th @ Wenatchee – 7:05pm

The West Kelowna Warriors return home for another big Interior showdown with the Wenatchee Wild heading into town once again. The Warriors return from the BCHL showcase with two big victories against the Prince George Spruce Kings and Nanaimo Clippers out in Chilliwack. The hot streak will be put to the test tonight against a Wenatchee Wild club that doubled up the Warriors 11 days ago by a score of 4-2.
This will be a different club the Wenatchee Wild will be facing this evening. In their last meeting there was no Matt Kowalski who was still serving a 4 game suspension, James Philpott who wasn’t dressed, and Lucas Cullen who wasn’t with the team at the time. A healthy lineup should give the Warriors the boost they need to slay the Fred Page Cup champs. Although the Warriors looked discipline last time they met the Wild, the two penalties they took lead to the two goals scored by the Wild in the third period. The Warriors know this power-play the Wild posses is dangerous and need to stay out of the box this evening.

The Wenatchee Wild are also coming off a split in the BCHL showcase defeating  the Alberni Valley Bulldogs but losing to the host RBC Cup Champion Chilliwack Chiefs. The Wild’s only other  loss of the season was out in Merritt which was literally “A Wild” match-up, with 12 goals scored total. The Nicola Valley Memorial Arena is usually a tough place to play for rookies in the BCHL since opposing teams are not prepared for the small size of the rink. Tonight’s game plan is simple for the Wild, keep that puck possession and capitalize on special teams.

You can listen to tonight’s game live on both Mixlr and Hockey TV. The voice of the Summerland Steam Tim Hogg will have tonight’s call. Just a friendly reminder that both games against Salmon Arm Sept 28th and 29th will be available on HockeyTV and EZ Rock 91.5. Chase Johnston will be back in the booth October 5th.
