West Kelowna, B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors begin their regular season at home when they host the Prince George Spruce Kings Saturday night. The Warriors also announce their leadership score, which includes Captain Elan Bar Lev Wise who returns as the Warriors Captain for the second year in a row. Alternates include Marcus Joughin, Nick Ardanaz, Chase Dafoe and John Evans. See video below.

Saturday October 9th VS Prince George Spruce Kings: 7:00pm

The Warriors are coming off a loss to finish the preseason over the Vernon Vipers. It was one of those games where really none of the bounces and calls went their way but that’s ok to Warriors General Manager and Head Coach Simon Ferguson who looks ahead to the regular season. “Our goal for preseason was just to come out, compete and give it a full effort, the details take time to get down, as long as we’re competing we will be happy heading into the regular season”.

Tonight the Prince George Spruce Kings come to town. The Spruce Kings are coming off a dominat performance over the Merritt Centennials Friday night after a commanding 8-1 victory. One of the more glaring stats is the fact they got scoring by committee. The Spruce Kings strength heading into the regular season is their overall depth. The Warriors are expected to bring back in a total 16 returning players which currently sits atop the most in the BCHL with this Prince George Spruce Kings team and the Vernon Vipers. The Spruce Kings are so comfortable with their returning roster, they’ve already named their leadership core led by Captain Kolton Cousins. The Warriors historically have had success with home openers, but recently haven’t been victorious since September 2017.

Puck drop for the Warriors on Saturday will be 7:00pm versus the Spruce Kings from Royal LePage Place. The Warriors will honour the firefighters that kept their community safe last August. Tickets are available online at WestKelownaWarriors.ca. The game will also be broadcast live on HockeyTV and  the BCHLWarriors Mixlr feed.
