The Warriors are coming off an exciting game Friday night against this same Trail Smoke Eaters team. The unfortunate part for the Warriors, it was a shootout loss at home. The Warriors out shot the Smoke Eaters 36-31 in the game and had puck possession for the majority of the extra frame. Something the Warriors are looking for is success on the power play. The penalty kill was a perfect 5/5 for the Warriors but there were numerous chances late for the Warriors to get the go ahead goal in the third period and overtime on the power play but they couldn’t cash in. Tonight the Warriors will have to try and find success in hostile territory in Trail. A rink that plays a little different compared to the average BCHL ice surface. Last time the Warriors were in Cominco was the final pre season game where Johnny Derrick earned the backup role with a significant performance between the pipes in his first full start. No update yet on who will start for the Warriors this evening, but one thing is for sure, getting some scoring on the man advantage a recipe for a victory.

This evening’s game will be broadcast on both HockeyTV and the Warriors Mixlr Network. Puck drop at 7:00pm from Cominco Arena in Trail. For tickets to any upcoming home game visit tickets.westkelownawarriors.ca for details and packages.
