Feb 22nd @ West Kelowna

The Warriors are coming off another tough loss this time at the hands of the Merritt Centennials. It was a game where the Warriors stuck with the Cents until midway through the third period. That’s where the Centennials top guns went to work and dominated the Warriors on shots and scoring a pair of goals to win by a score of 4-1. “I thought we played a good game Tuesday night”, said Assistant Coach Matt Miller. “We had some chances that we just missed that could have changed the game. The ability to come back in the third period was taken away from us because we were stuck in the penalty box.”

Tonight the Warriors welcome the Trail Smoke Eaters to Royal LePage Place, a rink that the Smoke Eaters have had success in this season outscoring the Warriors 14-8 in just two games combined in the RLP. The Warriors struggles in 2019 have allowed the Smoke Eaters to climb back from the basement of the Interior Division standings to a chance to leapfrog the Warriors Friday night. “Trail has been playing good hockey as of late and it seems like things are finally clicking for them” said Assistant Coach Matt Miller. “We just need to focus on what we did early in Tuesday’s game against Merritt, capitalize on those chances and then stay out of the penalty box”.

The Warriors are currently sitting in 6th place in the Interior Division with 55 points. 4 points behind the Salmon Arm Silverbacks and 1 point ahead of the Trail Smoke Eaters. The Trail Smoke Eaters are currently sitting in 7th in the Interior Division, 1 point behind the West Kelowna Warriors.

Warriors Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Chase Johnston is back on the mic with a pregame show 10 minutes before puck drop. Just a reminder that tickets are still available for tonight’s matchup versus the Merritt Centennials. Visit the Warriors website and select single game tickets for more details.
