WEST KELOWNA B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors(28-28-0-1) look to sweep the home at home with the Trail Smoke Eaters(22-24-8-3) Saturday night.

Sept 7th @ Trail         WIN 4-3 (OT)

Sept 8th @ West Kelowna     LOSS 6-4

Oct 20th @ Trail      WIN 4-3

Jan 5th @ West Kelowna    LOSS 8-4

Feb 22nd @ West Kelowna  WIN 4-3 (OT)

Feb 23rd @ Trail

The Warriors are coming off a big overtime victory over the Smoke Eaters Friday night in front of a loud crowd at Royal LePage Place. “I’m very happy for the guys right now,” said Head Coach and General Manager Brandon West. “They deserved this victory last night.” The win Friday night was the first home victory for the Warriors since January 20th when the Warriors defeated the Prince George Spruce Kings at the tail end of the Rogers Hometown Hockey festival.

Tonight the Warriors travel to the West Kootenays and finish the regular season where it all started, it Cominco Arena in Trail. The Warriors first victory of the season was an overtime victory in Trail and after a roller coaster season, it finishes where it all started. After Friday night’s loss the Smoke Eaters can’t move in the standings which makes tonight’s matchup somewhat meaningless for Trail who may rest some of their starters, but Warriors Head Coach and General Manager Brandon West disagrees, “It’s the last game of the season so it always means something no matter what. You want to pick up a victory before playoffs to gain momentum. We need to feed off of this positive energy we have right now.”

The Warriors are currently sitting in 6th place in the Interior Division with 57 points. 2 points behind the Salmon Arm Silverbacks and 2 points ahead of the Trail Smoke Eaters. The Trail Smoke Eaters are currently sitting in 7th in the Interior Division, 2 points behind the West Kelowna Warriors.

Warriors Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations Chase Johnston is back on the mic with a pregame show 10 minutes before puck drop. Just a reminder that tickets will be available soon for the first round of the BCHL playoffs. Visit the Warriors website and select single game tickets for more details.
