POWELL RIVER B.C. –The West Kelowna Warriors(23-21-0-1) sail their way to Powell River to face the Kings(31-20-1-0) Saturday night.

The Warriors are coming off another tough loss to the Chilliwack Chiefs Friday night by a score of 2-1. Although it was the Warriors third straight loss, Matt Miller and the rest of the coaching staff was very pleased with the effort. “A couple bounces didn’t go our way and we didn’t capitalize on our chances we would have wanted to. Tonight was a full 60 minute effort”
Tonight the Warriors will face another offensive juggernaut, the Powell River Kings. Last time the Warriors faced the Kings was back in November where the Warriors just edged the Kings 5-4. It was a game full of chances for each club. Warriors Assistant Coach Matt Miller thinks his club just needs to keep playing like they did Friday night, “If we match the same effort as Friday, we should have success Saturday night.”
The easy story line to point out in this game is the battle between Warriors forward Mike Hardman versus Kings forward Ryan Brushett. Both are head to head for the BCHL’s goal scoring race. Brushett currently leads the league in goals scored with 36. Mike Hardman is sitting second with 32 goals.
The Warriors are currently sitting in 6th place in the Interior Division with 53 points. 3 points behind the Vernon Vipers and 5 points ahead of the Trail Smoke Eaters. The Powell River Kings are second in the Island Division – 3 points behind the Victoria Grizzlies and 12 points ahead of the Nanaimo Clippers.
