West Kelowna, B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors head back to Vernon for games 11 and 12 of the Pod Season starting Wednesday evening.

The Warriors are coming off a thrilling shootout victory over the Vernon Vipers Monday night. It was a game where once again Johnny Derrick stood on his head keeping the game close allowing the Warriors to tie things up and ultimately win via 6th round of the shootout. The Warriors have collected 5 out of a possible 6 points over the past 3 games.

Wednesday April 21st VS Salmon Arm Silverbacks: 7:30pm

Last time the Warriors faced the Silverbacks they played a much better offensive game scoring a total of 5 goals, but the Silverbacks released Simon Tassy who scored a hatrick and added an assist. Tassy was able to use his speed to get past Warriors defenders for two out of the three goals including the tying goal which was scored with under a minute remaining to force overtime. The Warriors have struggled against the Silverbacks losing their last 4 in a row. The only win versus the Silverbacks was the Pod season opener on April 3rd when the Warriors edged the Silverbacks 2-1.

Friday April 23rd VS Vernon Vipers: 7:00pm

The Vipers came close to ending their losing streak to the Warriors this past Monday with the game going to a shootout, but with Zach Brooks keeping the Warriors winning streak over the Vipers in tact. The Vipers picked up their 3rd win in a row over the Silverbacks Tuesday night so the Warriors should expect a confident club that looks to snap their losing streak over Simon Ferguson’s squad.

Puck drop for the Warriors on Wednesday will be 7:30pm versus the Silverbacks and Friday at 7:00pm versus the Vipers. Catch broadcasts on BCHL TV (formally HockeyTV) or tune into the Warriors MixIr radio station.
