NEWS: WARRIORS WRAP UP 2020/21 COMMUNITY IMPACT FUND

WEST KELOWNA B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club is thrilled to announce the total contributions of $40,445.00 through community initiatives over the 2020/2021 season.

The Community Impact Fund began in April of 2020 when the Warriors hosted the first annual West Kelowna Community Night raising $6780.00 for the Central Okanagan Food Bank. From there the Warriors would host several other community events and initiatives throughout the pandemic raising money that would effect certain members of Warriors Nation and the West Kelowna Community.

Warriors President Chris Laurie issues a statement:

“We are very pleased with the contributions we and our fans have been able to fundraise during this challenging period of time. As we look forward to the return of the old normal, we are able to reflect positively on the impact we had on our community and those beneficiary’s in need. As a small business with challenges of it’s own, to contribute over $40,000 during a global pandemic is something we are proud of. Thank you to our loyal fans and community partners for supporting our initiatives and allowing us to give back where it matters most.”

The Warriors plan on hosting several community iniatives throughout the upcoming regular season which is slated to begin Saturday October 9th.
