NEWS: WARRIORS & VALLEY FIRST ANNOUNCE 2ND ANNUAL WEST KELOWNA COMMUNITY NIGHT

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club, Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union and the Central Okanagan Food Bank are excited to announce the 2nd Annual Community Night next Thursday May 20th. The initiative is designed to support local restaurants in the West Kelowna region and raise money for those in need.

For every order $30 or more, the West Kelowna Warriors & Valley First will donate $10 to the Central Okanagan Food Bank supporting West Kelowna families in need during this unprecedented time.

As we continue to see a rise in community members accessing the food bank, a 23% increase since January 2021, we are incredibly grateful for the support of the West Kelowna Community and to the West Kelowna Warriors, Valley First and local restaurants for hosting their second annual fundraiser, ” says Trevor Moss CEO of the Central Okanagan Food Bank.  “It is because of you and events like these we are able to meet the rising need and provide healthy food during this difficult time for many.”

“We are thrilled to be delivering another Community Night. It was a massive success last year and helped so many West Kelowna residents during a challenging time.”, said Warriors President Chris Laurie. “We are grateful to have Valley First team up with us this year to help with the donations. They have an ongoing Feed the Valley program, so they are a fantastic fit for this initiative. Please do your part and eat-out Thursday night. Let’s give these twelve local restaurants a night to remember!”.

As a cooperative financial institution, we believe that positive change comes through collaboration, and this program is a great example of just that –people coming together to support our local business community and our food banks,” says Paulo Araujo, President of Valley First.

Participating Restaurants include Lakesider Brewing Co, WINGS Tap & Grill, Original Joe’s, C Lovers, Bamboo Chopsticks, Kelly O’Bryan’s, Murray’s Pizza, Old Vines Restaurant, Kaiso West Kelowna, Pizza Moreh, Il Mercato Social Kitchen and Gasthaus on the Lake.

The promotion will go into effect Thursday May 20th at 4:00pm until close.
