WEST KELOWNA B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club is pleased to announce the donation of $6780.00 to the Central Okanagan Food Bank as a part of West Kelowna Community Night which took place April 30th.
The event was geared to generate revenue for local restaurants in the community as well as donate to the local food bank. For every $30 or more order, the Warriors would donate $10 to the Central Okanagan Food Bank. Between the 11 participating restaurants there were 678 orders, adding up to a grand total of $6780.00.
Trevor Moss, CEO of the Central Okanagan Food Bank informs the public there is a 28% spike in donations, however has seen a similar number in more families in need of their products and services.
The Warriors want to thank Global Road Maintenance for generating donations with a similar initiative, the media for getting the word out and the entire Central Okanagan Community for taking part.
The Warriors hope to make West Kelowna Community Night an annual event.
