WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors Junior Hockey Club announced Friday that defenseman Landen Hilditch (’05) has committed to play his collegiate hockey at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

Hilditch, 17, was acquired by the Warriors three weeks ago while in his first season in the BC Hockey League, suiting up in 18 games while with the Eagles before getting into his first three games with the Warriors. The 6’3”, 192-pound defender has posted one assist in that time following two seasons with the Valley West Giants program, playing at Under-16 and Under-18 levels. Hilditch compounded 2 goals and 17 assists for 19 points in 35 games last season with the U-18 Giants.

“We are very excited for Landen and his family, “ said Warriors Head Coach and General Manager Simon Ferguson, “Since arriving he has been very solid for us. We look forward to continuing to develop and working with Landen to be a top defender in our league before moving on to RPI.“

“RPI brings the best of both worlds for me,” Hilditch explained, “A top tier education and a hockey program that is trending in the right direction. The coaches and culture are super special and it is something that I’m excited to be apart of in the future.”

The Warriors and Bucks play the third of their five-game season set from Western Financial Place. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 PM MST (6:00 PM PST) with the game broadcasted live on the Warriors Broadcast Network (mixlr.com/bchlwarriors) as well as streamed online on BCHLTV.ca.
