NEWS: WARRIORS ADD ANTHONY BISHOP TO ROSTER

WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club is pleased to announce the addition of D Anthony Bishop (‘98) to the team’s roster after his release from the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League (WHL).

Bishop, 20, is a veteran of 174 WHL games as well as a total of 25 playoff games; he split time between Saskatoon Blades, Victoria Royals, Seattle Thunderbirds and the Tri-City Americans. Last season, Bishop played in a total of 66 games, amassing a total of 16 assists. This season Bishop had been held to a total of 2 games played due to injury.

Prior to his Western League experience, the Kelowna, BC native scored 5 goals and added 9 assists for 14 points in 28 games in the 2014-2015 season at the Okanagan Hockey Academy in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL).

The 20 year old defenceman also played in 9 games with the Warriors as an affiliate player in the aforementioned 2014-2015 season.

“The addition of Anthony Bishop to our lineup will help improve the depth of our already strong backend,” stated Warriors Assistant Coach and Assistant General Manager Matt Miller, “Anthony brings with him experience at the Western Hockey League level while adding offensive skill and superb skating to our team. Whenever you can add a player of Anthony’s skating and skill level you jump on it and we are pleased to have him join our team.”

The Warriors would like to welcome Anthony and his family to the City of West Kelowna and the Warriors organization.

The Warriors return back to home ice on Friday night as they welcome their interior Division rival Merritt Centennials to town. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 PM with tickets available for purchase.
