NEWS: WARRIORS MAKE MOVES AT THE BCHL TRADE DEADLINE

WEST KELOWNA B.C. – The West Kelowna Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club have acquired forward Cristophe Farmer (‘01) and have dealt forward Carter Schmidt (’04) to the Cranbrook Bucks in exchange for Future Considerations.

The Warriors have also dealt forward Jayden Price to the Amarillo Bulls (NAHL) in exchange for future considerations.

Schmidt, 17, is in his 2nd season in the BCHL scoring 9 points in 25 career games with the Warriors. The Warriors want to wish Carter all the best with the Cranbrook Bucks.

Price, 20, was acquired by the Warriors this season and scored 2 goals and 2 assists in 13 games played. The Warriors want to wish Jayden all the best with the Amarillo Bulls.

Farmer, 20, scored 7 goals and 12 assists in 29 games played with the Quebec Remparts (QMJHL) this season. “We are very excited for Cristophe to join the Warriors family”, said Warriors General Manager & Head Coach Simon Ferguson. “Cristophe is a dynamic player who can make plays score goals and wants to win”.

The 5’11, 170 pound winger is looking forward to joining the Warriors. “I’m really excited for this fresh start,” stated Farmer. “Can’t wait to meet the boys and the coaching staff. I describe myself as a playmaker with a good hockey IQ. I play well on both sides of the puck”. 

Farmer also has a long history with Warriors forward Felix Trudeau. “We played together when we were young and we kept contact. I’m sure our chemistry will comeback quickly.”

The Warriors would like to welcome Cristophe and his family to the City of West Kelowna and the Warriors organization.

 

The Warriors next game is scheduled for January 12th when the Warriors travel to Prince George to take on the Spruce Kings. Puck drop at 7pm from Rolling Mix Concrete Arena in Prince George. This game will be broadcast on both BCHL TV and the Warriors Mixlr Radio Network.
