NEWS: WARRIORS ACQUIRE FORWARD ALEXI VAN HOUTTE-CACHERO

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

August 15th, 2021

WEST KELOWNA B.C. – The West Kelowna Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club have acquired forward Alexi Van Houtte-Cachero (‘03) from the Danbury Jr Hat Tricks (NAHL) in exchange for future considerations.

The Point-Claire, Quebec native scored 18 goals and 25 assists in 36 games played with the Lac St-Louis Lions (QMAAA) during the 2019-2020 season. “We are very excited for Alexi to join the Warriors family”, said Warriors General Manager & Head Coach Simon Ferguson. “Alexi is going to be a tough player for opponents to play against. He plays with good speed, has a great shot and an ability to dominate a game”.

The 6’0, 185 pound forward played a handful of games this season for the Danbury Jr Hat Tricks (NAHL) and considers himself ready for the BC Hockey League. “I want to play in a fast and skilled league, with and against some of the best players heading into college,” stated Van Houtte-Cuchero. “Warriors fans can expect a hard working player who skates well and will put his body on the line to win. Excited for the opportunity to play infront of a amazing support base and community.”.

Van Houtte-Cuchero also has a long history with Warriors blue liner Charles Alexis Legault among others. “One of my closest and longest friends Charles-Alexis Legault played for the Warriors for part of last season. He had nothing but amazing things to say about the team. I’ve known Legault since I was about 6 years old and have played 6 seasons of minor hockey with him. I am extremely excited to be able to play with him again this season. We won a provincial championship together, and were captain together a couple years. I love training and playing with him, we have great chemistry. I also played with former Warrior Levi Stauber last season and said he had an amazing experience in West Kelowna, and that it was his favorite spot he played for in juniors. I’ve only heard amazing things about the organization and the city as well, I was extremely happy when the opportunity for me to be a Warrior presented itself.  “

Van Houtte-Cuchero is committed to The University of Nebraska in Omaha (NCAA). The Warriors would like to welcome Alexi and his family to the City of West Kelowna and the Warriors organization.
