WEST KELOWNA B.C. – Norsteel & The West Kelowna Warriors are excited to announce “Westside Grizzlies Night” next Wednesday when the Warriors host the Penticton Vees. The event is a part of the BCHL’s 60th Anniversary where each club/community gets to honour their past.

The Warriors organization wanted to honour hockey in West Kelowna dating back to their Westside Grizzlies Minor Hockey Days. The Warriors specifically will honour the 2000 Westside Grizzlies Midget club who won the AA Provincial Championship after coming back down a pair of goals to defeat Castlegar.

“There was a time when every teenage boy playing minor hockey on the Westside aspired to be a grizzly,” said Warriors President Chris Laurie. “Friends, families, and fellow students would pack Jim Lind arena to watch the Grizzlies go to battle. On Dec 29th, we honour the rich history of the Grizzlies and pay tribute to the most successful midget team to ever come out of West Kelowna”

Also note, there will be a Grizzlies alumni game at 4pm prior to our game. Admission is free with a ticket to the Warriors game following. Tickets are available for next Wednesday’s Westside Grizzlies game versus the Penticton Vees at Puck drop at 7:00pm from Royal LePage Place.
