NEWS: KYLE KOOPMAN TO JOIN FRIARS FOR DURATION OF SEASON

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 11th

WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club announced on Tuesday that D Kyle Koopman (’98) will be joining the providence Friars for the duration of the 2018-2019 season.

Koopman, 20, joined the Warriors 16 games into the season after coming from the Waterloo Black Hawks of the United States Hockey League (USHL). The defenseman played in a total of 18 games with the Warriors amassing 8 assists in that time.

“The loss of Kyle Koopman will not only be felt on the ice but in the dressing room as well,” stated Warriors Head Coach and General Manager Geoff Grimwood, “It hurts our team right now but this league is about progressing these men on to the next level. We believe Kyle is more than ready for college hockey right now and we want to wish him the best of luck in Providence.”

The Warriors would like to thank Kyle for everything he did for the Warriors organization and wish him the best of luck in all of his future endeavors.

The Warriors are in action tonight as the Mainland Division’s Coquitlam Express visit Royal LePage Place for their only visit of the season.
