WEST KELOWNA B.C. – After a sensational start to the season, the BCHL’s leading scorer on the back end is rewarded. Wyatt Head has come to a verbal agreement to join the Quinnipiac Bobcats for the 2019-2020 season. Head, 19, took his game to the next level this season averaging almost a point a game. The Kelowna B.C native is the quarterback on the power play for the Warriors alongside 4 forwards on the top unit, scoring 10 points in 11 games played.

Head shared his experiences when visiting Quinnipiac University this week, “Going to see the school and the facilities was such an amazing experience. Seeing how their treated their by the school and the staff they have is incredible. You can just tell what a top notch program they have there and it made it easy.”

Warriors Head Coach and General Manager Geoff Grimwood shared nothing but praise for Head. “Wyatt has been a really dynamic player on the back end for us, he’s offensive, and starting at the very first game against Trail, he got off to a great start from game one. He’s a guy that has great vision, he can jump up into the rush, skate against some good players, he’s one of those modern defenseman that plays a really good two way game.”

Wyatt was quick to thank his family and coaches in a statement. “Obviously I’d like to recognize all my family and everything they have done to this point for me and my friends and teammates have been a big part of it from the beginning as well and last but not least all the coaches and staff I’ve had help shape my game and the person I am today as well from top to bottom.”

Wyatt Head and the rest of his Warrior teammates will be back in action this Friday when the club travels to Merritt for a clash with the Centennials. Puck drop at 7pm. You can listen live to the broadcast through a video stream on Hockey TV or the free to access radio stream on Mixlr.
