WEST KELOWNA B.C. – One of the BCHL’s top scorers is heading home next season. Warriors forward Mike Hardman has come to a verbal agreement to join the Boston College Eagles for the 2019-2020 season. Hardman, 19, made the jump from the USHL’s Des Moines Buccaneers this past Summer to the West Kelowna Warriors and immediately took his game to the next level. The Hanover Mass product has already doubled his point production with the Warriors compared to his time in the USHL.

Hardman had offers from a variety of Division one schools, but went with childhood favorite, “I toured Boston College a couple days ago and absolutely loved it! The campus was unbelievable, and the hockey facilities were second to none. Growing up in Boston, it’s always been a dream to play hockey at Boston College. Can’t wait to be an Eagle for the next 4 years!”

Hardman is sitting tied for first in game winning goals, third in league scoring, and second place in goals scored in the BCHL this season. Hardman is crediting his teammates but more importantly his new coaching staff for his recent spike in development, “Geoff Grimwood, Taurean White, and Matty Miller have been huge for my development this year. I can’t thank them enough.”

Warriors Head Coach and General Manager Geoff Grimwood is thrilled about Mike playing hockey in his own backyard, “We are excited for Mike and his family to announce his commitment to B.C for next season. Mike has been a very important player for us this year and his deserving of the opportunity.”

Mike Hardman and the rest of his Warriors teammates will be back in action this Friday when the Warriors host the Prince George Spruce Kings Sunday. Puck drop 12:00pm.
