NEWS: COTTON SIGNS WITH THE HURRICANES

WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – The West Kelowna Warriors would like to congratulate  forward Jason Cotton on signing a one-year, entry-level contract with the Carolina Hurricanes.

Cotton, 25, is coming off a fantastic three years with Sacred Heart University. The 6’3”, 190-pound forward posted 51 goals and 69 assists for 120 points in 116 games played with the Warriors from 2013 to 2015. 

Cotton suited up for 110 games with SHU, scoring 41 goals and 40 assists for 81 points. Cotton is nominated for the prestigious Hobey Baker Award, given to the NCAA’s best college hockey player. The winner will be announced April 10th. 

Cotton becomes the 6th player from the Warriors to have inked a NHL contract, joining forwards Colton Sissons (Nashville Predators), David Pope (Vancouver Canucks), blue liner Justin Schultz (Pittsburgh Penguins), goaltenders Kevin Boyle (Anaheim Ducks) and Nathan Lieuwen (Buffalo Sabres).
