Greenfield Commits To Dinos

The West Kelowna Warriors are pleased to announce goaltender Matthew Greenfield (’95) has committed to the University of Calgary Dinos of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS).

Greenfield, 21, spent the last half of the 2015/16 season with the Warriors after coming over from the United States Hockey League (USHL). The 6’2, 185 lbs goaltender would post a 13-4-1 record in his 18 regular season games with West Kelowna while putting up a 2.09 GAA and a .938 SV%.

The Parkland, Florida native continued his dominance into the playoffs, boasting a 19-9 record with a 2.25 GAA and a sparkling .932 SV% over 23 total playoff games between the BCHL playoffs, the Western Canada Cup and the RBC Cup. Greenfield finished his junior career on a high note, not only winning the Canadian Junior “A” National Championship, but also posting a 48 save shutout in the RBC Cup winning game against the host Lloydminster Bobcats.

“Matt was outstanding for us. We don’t win a national championship without him,” commented Warriors General Manager and Head Coach Rylan Ferster “He came in and really settled our team down. He acts like a pro in every sense of the word.”

The Warriors begin their pre season schedule with a matchup on Wednesday, August 24th in Penticton against the Vees at 7:00 pm before their first game at Royal LePage Place when they take on the Salmon Arm Silverbacks at 7:00 pm on Friday, August 26th.
