Warriors Start 1-1

The warrior?s season started the regular season last week against their arch rival, the Penticton Vees in front of an opening day crowd of 1,489 fans. Even though Westside came up short on the final buzzer, the 3-4 loss doesn?t show the level of play exuberated by the Warrior?s players. The final shots finished in Westside?s favour of 26-24 but unfortunately went 0-7 on the power play. Justin Schultz started the season with flying colours contributed one assist to gain the games first star, and new comer Jordan Gagne recorded his first goal after coming over from Granby of the Quebec junior ?A? league.

The second night the story was in the Warriors fate as they flew and outplayed the Quesnel Millionaires to their first season win with a 3-2 victory for the home town crowd.  Westside outshot their opponents 27-19 with 2 power play goals. Jordan Gagne, acquired from the Quebec Jr A league (QAAAJHL), notched his second BCHL goal, while Justin Schultz, games 2nd star, and Garrett Watson added to the table. As well to a great start, Trevor Bailey, games 1st star, got his share of production producing on all 3 goals with assists, for a season total of 4 already.
