Warriors Earn Weekend Split in Trail

 

The Westside Warriors earned a split of two games in Trail, winning 3-2 Sunday afternoon to jump into third place in the BCHL Interior Conference.

 

Cory Pritz scored twice and Trevor Bailey added his 11th of the season as the Warriors improved to 17-10-0-3 on the season.

 

The Warriors led 2-0 after the first period and 3-0 early in the second on goals by Pritz, who scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season, and Bailey.

 

Trail got back into the game with goals by Danny DeKeyser and Justin Brown in the second.

 

The team?s played a scoreless third, highlighted by a 5-on-3 penalty kill by the Warriors.

 

Devon Murtagh got the win in net after earning the start after Kevin Jebson had played the first two games of the weekend, winning on Friday against Langley and losing on Saturday to Trail.

 

The Warriors have another three game weekend coming up next weekend when they host Burnaby on Friday night game time 7:00pm.  Friday night is also BC Children's Hospital Night.  The Warriors together with Save-on-Foods have a goal to raise a minimum of $1,000 during Friday night's game.  Your assistance in helping the Warriors staff and management reach that goal is very much appreciated.  They will be donating $1.00 from every ticket sold, as well as holding a silent auction and collecting donations with all proceeds going directly to BC Children's Hospital.

 

The Warriors then head north to play in Prince George on Saturday and Quesnel on Sunday.
