Warriors Complete Weekend Sweep

The West Kelowna Warriors got a pair of goals from Garrett Forster and Jonathan Desbiens in a 4-1 win over the Trail Smoke Eaters on Saturday night at Cominco Arena.

One night after a 9-0 victory, the Warriors got two on the man advantage in the first period, as Forster scored from the left point on each just 5:30 apart.

Desbiens gave West Kelowna a 3-0 lead with a wicked wrister bar down on Bailey MacBurnie for his 38th of the year early in the second.

The Smoke Eaters responded just seven seconds later as Nolan Redler lit the lamp for what turned out to be the only time this weekend for Trail.

Keelan Williams made 24 saves in the Warriors net, as Desbiens beat MacBurnie on a rush to give the Warriors a 3-goal cushion with seven minutes left.

The Warriors head to Penticton on Friday February 12th to take on the Vees, where Desbiens will look to become just the second player in Warriors history to score 40 goals in a season. Trevor Bailey holds the single-season team record with 41.
