Shorthanded Goals are the Difference

 

The Westside Warriors are returning home from northern B.C. without a point in two games.

 

The Quesnel Millionaires handed the Warriors a 4-2 loss Sunday afternoon, scoring two shorthanded goals and a power play marker to defeat Westside.

 

Matt Betker opened the scoring for the Warriors but the Millionaires tied the game at 1-1 before the end of the first period.

 

Tommy Kala and Mitchell Smith scored in the second as Quesnel took control with a 3-1 lead. Garrett Watson?s power play marker late in the second made it 3-2 but the Warriors could get no closer.

 

The Millionaires second shorthanded goal?by Josh Fersovitch?made it 4-2 in the third.

 

The loss drops the Warriors record to 18-12-0-3 while the Millionaires improve to 11-20-0-3 with the win.

 

Devon Murtagh took the loss in net for Westside which lost 3-1 in Prince George on Saturday night.

 

Westside takes on Penticton on Wednesday at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
