The West Kelowna Warriors will look to avenge their Game #1 loss and even their first-round playoff series as they host the Merritt Centennials in Game #2 of the series at Royal LePage Place on Saturday night.

The Warriors and Centennials opened the playoff season with a bang in Game #1 as the two teams scored 11 combined goals in the 60-minute contest with the Centennials coming away with the 6-5 victory and the early series lead at 1-0. Quin Foreman tallied twice for the Warriors in the losing effort while Jake Harrison, Chase Stevenson and Michael Ryan each added single goals. Cole Demers got his first taste of playoff action in his BCHL career as he earned the start in net and stopped 33 of 39 shots thrown his way in the defeat.
Special teams will continue to be a big factor in the series and it played a part in the opening game with the Warriors surrendering five penalties to just one for the Centennials. The Warriors did capitalize on their lone man advantage while the Warriors penalty kill went 3/5 in the game.
The big guns of each team’s offense came out in Game #1 as Quin Foreman paced the scoring in the game with a pair of goals and four points while Chase Stevenson added a goal and an assist and Connor Sodergren put up a pair of assists. Defenseman Jake Harrison earned a goal and two assists for a three-point night while Michael Ryan picked up a goal and an assist in the loss.
For the Centennials, leading scorer in the regular season Zach Risteau scored two goals and added an assist while Tyler Ward chipped in with a three-point night as well with a goal and two assists. Blue liner Mike Faulkner and captain Brett Jewell each earned a goal and an assist in the Game #1 victory.
Game #2 between the Warriors and Centennials takes place at 7:00 PM on Saturday night at Royal LePage Place. Tickets are available for purchase at the Warriors office or by calling Kim at (250) 769-7051. The series shifts to Merritt for Game #3 and 4 which will take place on Monday and Tuesday. If a Game #5 is needed, it would be held at RLP on Thursday night.
