NEWS: Warriors To Stay In West Kelowna

The West Kelowna Warriors Junior ‘A’ Hockey Club is pleased to announce that the team will be remaining in West Kelowna, as announced by Warriors Director of Business Operations during Friday night’s game at Royal LePage Place.

Owner Mark Cheyne had been working tirelessly to find a group of local investors to keep the team in the City of West Kelowna. Full details on the new restructured ownership group will be announced at a later date.

“Last night’s announcement that the Warriors are staying in West Kelowna is great news for the BCHL,” said BCHL commissioner John Grisdale. “The league office is excited to work with the restructured ownership group, assist in rolling out their new ideas and continue to support the great fan base in West Kelowna.”

The Warriors will host the Merritt Centennials on Saturday night for Game #2 of their best-of-7 first-round playoff series. The Cents hold a 1-0 series lead after a 6-5 victory on Friday night at RLP. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 PM with tickets available at the Warriors office or by calling Kim at (250) 769-7051.
