WEST KELOWNA, B.C. – Former West Kelowna Warriors captain Max French has found a new home as he has signed with the Texas Stars, affiliate of the Dallas Stars, in the American Hockey League.

French, 24, spent a total of five seasons in West Kelowna with the Warriors from 2009-2013, playing in 193 regular season games while amassing 67 goals and 149 points to go along with 238 penalty minutes. The West Kelowna, BC native went on to a successful four-year collegiate career at Bentley University, the same school that former Warriors Jonathan Desbiens and Nicholas Rutigliano are attending. French captained the Falcons this past season, his senior year at Bentley and led the Falcons in scoring. Over the course of his four-year NCAA career, French played in 138 games, scoring 67 times and adding 143 points while collecting 192 penalty minutes. The former Warrior captain signed an amateur try-out with the Utica Comets, affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, after his senior year of college concluded but did not get into any game action.
