BRIGGS ACCEPTS SCHOLARSHIP TO CLARKSON
Thursday, May 10, 2012
Westside Warriors are proud to announce that goaltender Tyler Briggs has accepted a scholarship to attend Clarkson University (New York) for the 2013-2014 hockey season. The Clarkson University Golden Knights play in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Hockey League (NCAA Div. 1).

Last year, Briggs posted a 20-2-5 record with four shutouts, a 1.98 GAA, and a .914 save percentage in the regular season.

The Sherwood Park native was named the 2011-2012 AJHL Top Goaltender in recognition of his outstanding season.  The AJHL named the 19-year-old to the AJHL Reebok North Division All-League Team.

“It’s great that Tyler has secured a NCAA Division 1 commitment,” says Warriors Head Coach/GM Rylan Ferster.  “His numbers over the last few years have shown that he is an elite level goalie. We are very excited for him and his family. And look forward to having him join our hockey family here in West Kelowna.”

Tyler will arrive in West Kelowna in time for Main Camp in late August.
