Warriors, Silverbacks Face-off In Rematch Tonight

The West Kelowna Warriors will look to improve upon a solid effort last night as they head to the North Shuswap tonight to battle against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

West Kelowna executed a great team game last night in their 2-1 win over the ‘Backs and will look to do the same in tonight’s rematch being held at the Shaw Centre in Salmon Arm.

Parm Dhaliwal and Matthew Rutigliano took care of the Warriors scoring in last night’s victory while Shane Farkas and Gunnar Nielsen shut the door to save 21 of the 22 shots they faced combined as West-K picked up their first victory of the pre season and evened their record to 1-1 in pre season play.

The Warriors will dress four returnees for tonight’s game with Jared Marino, Quin Foreman, Connor Sodergren and Tyler Anderson all suiting up for their first pre season. Newcomers Mitch Barker, who the Warriors acquired two weeks ago from Victoria, and Daly Hamilton, will also suit up for West-K tonight. Matt Vernon, who played in the game on Wednesday night in Penticton, will start for West-K tonight.

The game can be seen live on FASTHockey and Warrior fans can follow along on Twitter and Facebook for updates. West Kelowna is back on home ice on Wednesday, August 31st when they take on the Penticton Vees at Royal LePage Place.
